I was actually wondering if you were interested in a commission.
I posted it on the forum for jobs too, but its the front and back cover of a children's workbook for a botanical garden.
It would be a cartoonish map version of the original map of the garden. I.E you would take the original map and "liven it up" with your own sketched version(maple trees, flowers, etc.). It is more than likely there will be other illustrations on the inside of the booklet, in which case I'd send you more commissions.
Oh, it would be $50 for the cover.
Let me know if you are interested and, if you are, let me know if you would be willing to whip up a *very rough* sketch?

The cover illustration is for the front and back of the audiobook case, so two illustrations that relate to each other would probably be best.
The name of the book is "A Chronicle of the Brothers Rook"
It centers around a pair of brothers in 19th century England who set out to solve the murder of their aristocratic friend. It began as a Sherlock Holmes prequell, but, due to copyright infringement, was changed to take a different path with different actions and characters(which I have now copyrighted officially . So the feel is Holmsian. I am open to suggestions on what the illustration should look like( in terms of idea, abstract level, and even colour). I am a firm believer in allowing the artists I commission to follow their own concept. Once you settle on a concept, however, I would like to have updates and rough sketches (via e-mail preferably) so that the finished piece satisfies both our expectations.
$50 for the illustration but it must be either two related illustrations or one large enough to be put on both sides of an audiobook case (about the size of an average hardcover book).
I use paypal, and I use the dollar not the Euro (sorry).
If you are interested, please send a link to your portfolio on here as well as any non-DA sites you may have that have extra artwork. If I like your works, I may ask for a sample of what you were thinking(rough only), it doesn't have to be fancy, you can post it on your DA portfolio with copy-protection or even write a big "SAMPLE" across it, I don't mind, I just want to see what your initial idea is.
